MATERIALS
  • Low water use plumbing fixtures
  • Cabinets and trims made from composite wood that contain no urea-formaldehyde resins
  • Carpeting and pad that has been part of the Carpet and Rug Institute Green Label Plus Program
  • Energy Star Program:
        - Appliances
        - Lighting Fixtures
        - Water Heater
        - Mechanical Equipment
  • Windows exceeding Energy Star performance requirements, with a U-factor and SHGC of <= 0.35 for the region
  • Roof insulation containing more than 20% recycled material
  • Finish materials with low emissions (radon gas, etc.) ratings such as paint, cabinets, carpet, linoleum, trim, tile, etc.
  • SolaTubes┬« to be installed in each residential unit for added "daylighting" in bathrooms and closets
CONSTRUCTION HIGHLIGHTS
  • Judicious use of locally supplied products (low energy impact to transport)
  • 2x6 Structural Insulated Panel Construction, with R-36 Insulation
  • Project is landscaped in Xeriscape. All plants are indigenous and after a brief period of watering (while they become established) will sustain themselves with local rainfall
  • Flagstaff Senior Meadows has mitigated erosion and run-off by providing a water retention system that will collect water from newly constructed hard surfaces (black-top, etc.) and release it below the level of flow from before the site was developed
